Remote — São Paulo. NeedAWebNow has no office in São Paulo and this posting does not mean we operate there. Our only two offices are in Orlando and Miami, Florida. We are building a bench of people we can call on as work scales, and this role is open to candidates based in or around São Paulo, Brazil, working remotely. Time zone: one to two hours ahead of US Eastern, so your afternoon is our morning.
About the role
This is the e-commerce-weighted half of our development work: WooCommerce and Shopify storefronts, catalogue setup at volume, checkout that works on every phone, and the analytics that tell a client which half of the store is working. São Paulo is on this list because it has a deep commercial e-commerce development community. To be explicit: NeedAWebNow has no office in São Paulo, no entity in Brazil, and no operations there — our two offices are in Orlando and Miami, Florida.
What you’d do
- Build and configure WooCommerce stores: products and variations, tax and shipping, payment gateways, checkout flow, and the order emails nobody tests until they are wrong.
- Build and maintain Shopify storefronts for clients who are on it, and handle migrations without losing order history.
- Set up and clean up product catalogues at volume — imports, variations, categories, attributes, images, and the product schema that makes a listing findable.
- Own store analytics and conversion tracking: GA4 ecommerce events, checkout funnels, and finding where carts are actually abandoned rather than guessing.
What we’d look for
- Two or more years on live WooCommerce or Shopify stores that took real orders. Send URLs.
- Enough PHP and WordPress to extend WooCommerce rather than only install plugins for it.
- Working English — enough to take a brief, write a handover note and join a call. Our briefs are in English and Spanish.
- Real care about checkout. We would rather ship a plain checkout that works everywhere than a beautiful one that fails on Safari.
Working remotely from São Paulo
Fully remote, as an independent contractor, paid in USD at the same rate as the equivalent US-based role. You would be based in São Paulo, one to two hours ahead of our offices. Some overlap with US business hours is needed around a store launch, because that is when stores break. No office to come into and no claim that we operate in Brazil.
