Remote — Mexico City. NeedAWebNow has no office in Mexico City and this posting does not mean we operate there. Our only two offices are in Orlando and Miami, Florida. We are building a bench of people we can call on as work scales, and this role is open to candidates based in or around Mexico City, Mexico, working remotely. Time zone: one to two hours behind US Eastern, so the working days overlap almost completely.

About the role

Spanish is not an add-on here — about half of what we publish is in it, and our standard is that a Spanish page should read as though it was written in Spanish rather than translated into it. Machine translation does not achieve that and a bilingual generalist in a hurry does not either. Mexico City is on this list because it is the deepest market for Spanish-first commercial writing we could scout. NeedAWebNow has no office in Mexico City, no entity in Mexico, and no operations there; our two offices are in Orlando and Miami.

What you’d do

  • Write Spanish website and landing-page copy for client builds — homepages, service pages, location pages — as original copy, not as a translation pass.
  • Localise English campaign material into Spanish where the offer, the call to action and the examples all have to change, not just the words.
  • Write Spanish blog articles and service content around the keyword plans our SEO work produces, so what you write can rank in Spanish on its own.
  • Write Spanish email and ad copy, and the scripts our video and audio producers work from.
  • Repair machine-translated and AI-translated drafts, and say which ones have to be rewritten rather than fixed.

What we’d look for

  • Native Spanish with a portfolio of published commercial writing, and strong enough English to work from English briefs and source copy.
  • Judgement about regional variety. A Miami audience, a Mexican audience and a Colombian audience are not interchangeable, and knowing when to flatten and when not to is most of the job.
  • Working knowledge of how search reads a page, so a Spanish page ranks rather than only reads well.
  • Comfort editing directly in WordPress rather than returning a document for someone else to paste in.

Working remotely from Mexico City

Fully remote, as an independent contractor, paid in USD at the same rate as the equivalent US-based role. You would be based in Ciudad de México, one to two hours behind our offices. No office to come into, no on-site requirement, and no claim on our part to operate in Mexico.

About this posting

This is an open, evergreen posting. We keep it up whether or not there is a seat free this month, because the alternative — starting a search the week we need somebody — is how agencies end up hiring whoever is available instead of whoever is right. There is no deadline on it and no urgency to manufacture. If you are good at this, apply, and we will talk; if the fit is there and the work is not yet, we will tell you that honestly and keep your application on file.

Every application comes to us through this page. We do not post on Indeed or any other job board, and nobody at NeedAWebNow will ever ask you to pay for anything as part of applying.
