Remote — Chicago. NeedAWebNow has no office in Chicago and this posting does not mean we operate there. Our only two offices are in Orlando and Miami, Florida. We are building a bench of people we can call on as work scales, and this role is open to candidates based in or around Chicago, United States, working remotely. Time zone: US Central — one hour behind our offices.
About the role
We use AI heavily — research, first drafts, automation — and we are open about that. What we do not do is let it own the voice. Every piece of client copy that leaves here has a person who decided what the business sounds like, what it is offering, and what it will not claim. This posting is us scouting an English-language writer in Chicago for that work, remotely. NeedAWebNow has no office in Chicago and no operations in Illinois; our two offices are in Orlando and Miami.
What you’d do
- Write and edit website and landing-page copy for client builds — homepages, service pages, location pages.
- Write blog articles and service-page content around the keyword and page plans our SEO work produces, so what you write has somewhere to rank.
- Write email campaigns, newsletters and sequences, and the ad copy paid media needs.
- Take AI first drafts and make them publishable: cut the filler, fix the claims, put the client’s actual offer and proof back in, and verify anything factual before it ships.
What we’d look for
- A portfolio of published commercial writing — marketing copy, not only personal essays — and the ability to say which parts were yours.
- Native-level English. Spanish is a plus here rather than a requirement; our Spanish writing is scouted separately in Mexico City.
- Working knowledge of how search reads a page. You do not need to be an SEO, but you should not be writing against one.
- A specific, healthy scepticism about AI output — someone who uses the tools and still catches what they get wrong.
Working remotely from Chicago
Fully remote and the most time-flexible of these roles. You would be based in the Chicago metropolitan area. Chicago is US Central, an hour behind our offices, which is immaterial for writing work. No on-site requirement and no office to come into.
