Remote — Mexico City. NeedAWebNow has no office in Mexico City and this posting does not mean we operate there. Our only two offices are in Orlando and Miami, Florida. We are building a bench of people we can call on as work scales, and this role is open to candidates based in or around Mexico City, Mexico, working remotely. Time zone: one to two hours behind US Eastern, so the working days overlap almost completely.
About the role
Roughly half of NeedAWebNow’s work serves US Hispanic markets or clients in Latin America, and on a bilingual build the Spanish side is not an afterthought — it is half the deliverable. Mexico City is on this list because it has one of the largest Spanish-first web development communities anywhere. To be explicit: NeedAWebNow has no office in Mexico City, no entity in Mexico, and no operations there. Our two offices are in Orlando and Miami, Florida. This posting is us scouting remote development talent, nothing more.
What you’d do
- Build and maintain client sites in WordPress and WooCommerce — custom templates, theme work, plugin configuration — on a per-project basis.
- Build matched English and Spanish pages with lead capture and booking, and keep the two language versions in sync as they change. This is the part of the work this market is on the list for.
- QA Spanish page copy yourself rather than shipping a translation nobody read.
- Fix defects on live client sites and verify the fix against the live URL, not only locally.
What we’d look for
- Demonstrable PHP and WordPress theme development — custom templates and hooks, not page-builder drag-and-drop. Send links to sites you built.
- Solid HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and enough Git to work on a branch without putting a live site at risk.
- Native or near-native Spanish and working English — enough English to read a brief, write a handover note and join a call.
- Reliable remote working habits. You would not be supervised; the work is judged on whether the site works.
Working remotely from Mexico City
Fully remote, as an independent contractor, paid in USD at the same rate as the equivalent US-based role. You would be based in Ciudad de México. The time difference to our offices is one to two hours, so the working days overlap almost completely — which is the practical reason this market is listed. There is no office to come into and no on-site requirement, and this posting does not mean we operate in Mexico.
